Aldosterone retains Na+ to maintain BP. This is at the expense of K+ (aka Na+ is retained whilst K+ is excreted). Conn’s syndrome (hyperaldosteronism) will present with HTN and hypokalemia.

Renin is stimulated by Sympathetic NS, BP and Na+ levels.
